BRIGHTON ON FILM
We will show you the locations used in feature films including Brighton Rock 1947 and the 2011 version, Quadrophenia, Genevieve, Oh what a Lovely War, Wimbledon, Mona Lisa
and Nick Cave's 20,000 Days on Earth. TV's Grace was filmed here in 2021.
Brighton has a long history of filmmaking and cinematography ~ William Friese-Greene the inventor of cineamatography,lived and worked here.
In the 1890s, George Albert Smith, the film and editing pioneer,lived and built a studio in Hove.
Brighton's Duke of York's Picturehouse,1910, is the oldest purpose built and continually operating cinema in Britain.
Many Director's have been and are continually drawn to Brighton for film locations.
